Fun At Camp

Zander is really starting to enjoy camp and all it has to offer...

First, there's swimming- his first love (must be related to mom, a chlorine junky)




Then, there's playing in the tipi.



And finally, helping out in the garden (didn't Brent do a great job?!)



The potatos are bigger than Zander!


Just waiting for him to get big enough for a harness to let him play in the trees!

11 Months Old!

Wow does time fly! We're almost at the one year mark, the best of our lives so far! Zander is just a bundle of joy, talking lots of gibberish, trying to sing, walking holding onto just one hand, finding outlets and plugs, carbo loading on cereal, laughing and laughing and laughing, still not sleeping through the night, swimming lots, and having fun now that camp has started and enjoying people everywhere (he's definately the entertainer at whichever table we sit at for meals). As you can see from these photos, he's getting very big, and more independent with each passing day. We'll have to start enjoying our "cuddle" time before it's over.



As you can see, Zander likes to chew on things. He's getting 2 more teeth up top (hope they don't mess up the gap!).



I kept trying to get them together, but every time I tried, either Zander got up or Zander looked down. It would have been really lucky seeing how it's a dog and a baby...

Grandpa Cummins is also here this week helping volunteer at camp. It's been nice having him around, and I think so far he has enjoyed his time here.

Recent Happenings

We've been doing a few different things this last week I thought I'd share. A little too many pictures to post, so hopefully you'll enjoy this mini-slideshow!

Finally, Some Video!!

I finally gave up on downloading thru the blog site, and instead downloaded the video through YouTube. Still slow, but at least it works! Check out some fun video of what Zander's been up to!

First, a HILARIOUS video of Zander laughing at Brent and a pen. It takes so little to get him laughing!


Next, Zander's way of crawling... the army crawl. As you can tell, he can get around pretty well this way to make messes, and I think it's so funny that he almost always has to stop and take a rest.


He loves to walk along the furniture too. There are very few pluses to living in such a small place, but one of them is that he can make it all the way around the living room using couches, entertainment centers, shelves, and his exersaucer because they all practically touch...


And finally, although this video doesn't quite do it justice- he gets camera shy any time we try- he is starting to walk a little more steadily on his own. He can stand for a good 10 seconds and take pretty controlled steps (3 or 4), so maybe by his first birthday he'll be caught up to Ainsley, the miracle walker!

This Weekend

Friday, we went to a B&B in Lancaster County since Brent hadn't been offsite since Memorial Weekend. It was FABULOUS, and if you are ever looking for somewhere to "Getaway", this would be an excellent choice! Here is a view of Zander and Brent eating breakfast on our patio.

They even had a box of toys for Zander to play with, although the fake dinosaurs scared him, and he didn't care for this hat either. There were some little books which he loved, as well as a fun truck.

Today, Brent taught Zander how to drive with his bottom... ok, they actually didn't go anywhere like this, although Zander does love to ride the gator.

And, he also found the DVD's. That means 2 out of 3 rooms in this apartment have shelves of things he enjoys throwing on the floor. Next stop should be the games on the hallway bookcase. Hours of fun!

I'll try the video again tomorrow. If I can't get it to work, I may go Phil and Gra's route and just put them on YouTube. Hope everyone had a great weekend and congrats to the Luedtke's and their new baby boy Cameron!

Happy Birthday Grandpa and Uncle Denny!

Today Grandpa Miesle and Uncle Denny turned 60! And to mark this momentous occasion, I learned something new. Mom left the room to get laundry with me on my belly and nothing on the floor. When she came back, I had learned I could do this (Don't mind the Christmas PJ's...):
